All About Access Alley: How This Local Store is Bringing Art Education, Community Engagement, and Sustainability To The Area

After living 35 years in the community, Access Alley owner Leah Mowry decided to set up shop in Lakemore Plaza to “ bring beautiful art and services to her neighbors.” The store serves multiple purposes, catering to different needs and interests. It offers diverse activities and experiences, attracting a broader audience. Whether someone is interested in taking art classes, enjoying a cup of coffee, or shopping for unique repurposed furniture, the store provides a variety of options to cater to different preferences.

By offering art classes for the community and visitors alike, the store promotes accessibility to art education. It provides an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to engage in artistic activities and enhance their creative abilities, regardless of their prior experience or expertise. Recent classes have included Faux Painting Techniques and a Tole Painting Class. These classes are reasonably priced and taught by qualified art professionals happy to share their expertise with others.

Access Alley's combination of art classes and café also encourages social interaction and catalyzes community engagement. Participants can meet and connect with fellow art enthusiasts, share ideas, collaborate on projects, and form meaningful relationships. The Access Alley café is a gathering place where people can relax, discuss art, and build connections. Individuals also have the ability to rent out The Meeting Place. It seats up to 35 people and tables and chairs can be arranged for birthday parties, business meetings, classroom settings, or formal dinners. Wi-Fi access, a projector with a 100" screen, catering, linen service, and centerpieces are also available for all occasions.

This small business is also bringing sustainable practices to the area by giving new life to pre-existing items. Through this, the store promotes recycling and reduces waste. This eco-friendly approach not only appeals to environmentally conscious customers but also supports the concept of responsible consumption and environmental stewardship. Repurposed furniture adds a distinctive touch to the store. Each piece has its own history and character, making the shopping experience more exciting and personalized. Customers can find one-of-a-kind items that reflect creativity, craftsmanship, and a commitment to sustainability.

At Access Alley you will find upcycled and repurposed home décor, vintage and handmade items. In this, Access Alley can showcase and sell artwork created by local artists, providing them with a platform to exhibit their talent and reach a wider audience. This support for the local art community contributes to the area’s growth and appreciation of art.

Overall, the store offers diverse experiences, catering to artistic exploration, community engagement, relaxation, sustainability, and unique shopping opportunities. It appeals to individuals who appreciate art, seek inspiration, value social connections, and desire to make conscious choices that align with their personal values. So if you’re looking for a vibrant hub where people can come together, express themselves artistically, connect with others, and enjoy a welcoming and inspiring environment you need to plan a visit to Access Alley.
